When “Jasmine” found out her family was moving to Italy, she knew life would change, but she never anticipated how transformative moving would be. In 7th grade, a friend invited her to attend a Youth For Christ Military event.
The whole experience was a bit foreign to her. “My family had no religious affiliations,” Jasmine explained.
Like many students we serve, Campus Life Military was the first place Jasmine encountered the gospel. Something felt different, and she threw herself into as many opportunities as possible – Bible studies, Clubs, and all the retreats. “It was amazing to travel around Europe and meet up with other Christian youth from various bases,” Jasmine recalled.
But it wasn’t just the fun that drew her in. As an adult now looking back, Jasmine described her time in Italy as really formative for her teenage years. “My experiences in YFC made me feel loved and accepted,” she shared. “I found Christ through the program.”
Jasmine’s journey to Italy definitely brought change, but her encounter with Jesus through YFC Military set her life on a different path altogether.
